Who's Teaching Who?
I was listening to FM105.7 on my drive home. The radio host mentioned a violinist who was inspired by his two children to make new music. We thought the adults were the responsible ones teaching our children but we ended up learning more from our kids. Listening to his children play violins and hearing those notes come alive inspired him to make a new piece of music which was played on the radio.
That’s also the case for me. Watching my son and working with young children in art classes had inspired me to take up art classes and to write and illustrate my debut picture book Emet’s Box. These kids reminded me what it means to feel alive (which was theme of my picture book Emet’s Box). As Joseph Campbell who said:
I love working with kids in my art lab.
They are so inspirational.
I hope they will always remember what they have inside of them and always be able to shine their light on the world.
